4 Fall Aftercare Tips For CoolSculpting®

Undergoing aesthetic procedures can be life-changing — this is especially true with minimally invasive fat loss treatments that can help you achieve your body goals.

Hence, it’s indispensable to follow aftercare reminders to ensure that you are getting the best results after your treatment.

Let’s take a closer look at CoolSculpting®, for example.

What Is CoolSculpting®?

CoolSculpting® procedures are non-surgical treatments that use cryolipolysis, or fat-freezing, to reduce pockets of fat in different troubled areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or under the chin.

The science behind CoolSculpting® is simple.

Each person has a set number of fat cells during childhood and adolescence, which varies little when reaching adulthood. However, some individuals have more fat cells, making them prone to stubborn pockets of fat despite diet and regular exercise.

CoolSculpting® addresses this by freezing excess fat cells and then, eliminating them through the body’s lymphatic system. This results in up to 20-25% fat reduction in the treated area.

Benefits of CoolSculpting®

Fat cells vary in number for each person.

People with more fat cells can benefit from CoolSculpting® because it focuses on eliminating fat cells and not just shrinking them.

Unlike a weight loss procedure, CoolSculpting® is a fat loss treatment that removes fat cells from the body. Thus, as long as you maintain your weight and keep healthy habits, you can enjoy its long-term benefits.

CoolSculpting® also addresses 9 different areas, including the fat under the chin and below the jawline, flanks, thighs, bra fat, back fat, underneath the buttocks (banana roll), upper arms, and the abdomen.

Treatment Proper: What Happens During CoolSculpting® Procedures?

Here’s what you can expect during your first CoolSculpting® treatment:

  1. I will apply a clear gel pad to the treatment area.
  2. Then, you will feel a slight sucking sensation from the CoolSculpting® device.
  3. During the procedure, you may experience pulling, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, and cramping in the targeted areas.
  4. After the applicator is detached, I will do a brief massage on the area to enhance fat reduction and break up the treated fat cells.

Since it’s a minimally invasive procedure, you will be able to answer emails, read, watch TV or browse your social media accounts throughout the treatment.

CoolSculpting® (Aftercare)

You can get a CoolSculpting® treatment anytime, as long as you’re already at or near your ideal weight.

However, if you happen to undergo a body sculpting procedure this fall, here are four aftercare reminders to help you maintain the best results:

Wear Comfortable Clothing.

It’s best to dress warmly, especially this fall when exposed to cooler temperatures. Keep the treated area(s) covered and comfortable to avoid overcooling your skin.

Stay Hydrated.

Always drink plenty of water; this helps flush out the treated fat cells. Moreover, staying hydrated is also essential for your overall health.

Gently Massage The Treated Areas.

Massaging the treated areas can help improve blood circulation and the breakdown of fat cells.

Avoid Sun Exposure.

It’s still best to avoid sun exposure, even if it’s already the fall season. The treated area may still be sensitive after the treatment. So, always wear sunscreen.
